Jim Hedemark Jim has served as Executive Director of the coalition since its inception in May of 2004. His duties include the day-to-day administration of the coalition, internal and external communications, development, management of the budget, policy formation and advocacy, outreach to partners, support of the directors and program management.
Prior to joining the Coalition, Jim worked as a public affairs consultant, independently and with Washington State based, King & Crowley Public Affairs serving clients in the business, non-profit and government sectors. Highlight projects include the organization of a statewide townhall meeting focused on engaging people with disabilities in the political process in Colorado, market research for the United States' only 100% Native American owned national bank, community coalition coordination supporting an 18,000 seat amphitheater in Southwest Washington, opinion research for a leading pacific northwest conservation firm, research leading to an emergency communication network along a major United States' pipeline, and as a legislative intern with a leading non-profit organization representing Washington State's assisted living and skilled nursing facilities.
Also, as a senior political campaign advisor at the state and federal levels, Jim has helped to manage campaigns in Arizona, California and Washington State. He began his political campaign career with Speaker of the House, Thomas S. Foley.
He graduated from Washington State University with a B.A. in political science, emphasis on public administration and resides in Providence, RI.
