Senator Daniel J. Issa and Representative Raymond C. Church sponsored senate bill 804 and house bill 6235 respectively. |

Nason, a native of North Providence, RI attended Mt. St. Charles Academy in Woonsocket. His parents and other family still live in North Providence.

| On Friday, April 1st, 2005 the Governor of the State of Rhode Island, Donald L. Carcieri, issued a Gubernatorial Proclamation, proclaiming April 2005 as Financial Literacy Month in the State of Rhode Island and called on all citizens to join in recognizing the importance of this month. The Governor also issued the following statement
"In the 21st century, financial literacy is more important than ever. Everyone needs to know how to read and write, and everyone needs to know how to manage their money. In this era of automatic teller machines, online banking and plentiful credit, we must be careful to provide our young people with the financial skills necessary to excel. That's why I have proclaimed April 2005 as Financial Literacy Month in Rhode Island. I want to thank the Rhode Island Jump$tart Coalition for their efforts to help our state's youth learn how to become financially responsible and independent."

| The Rhode Island Senate unanimously passed Senate Resolution 994, proclaiming April 2005 as Financial Literacy Month. The resolution's Prime Sponsor, Senator Frank T. Caprio said of this resolution's passage, "I want to thank and commend my Senate colleagues for joining with me in recognizing the importance of personal financial education. The unanimous passage of this resolution is a testament to our belief that this issue calls upon all of us to work together for a brighter financial future for all Rhode Islanders, regardless of political party affiliation, race, gender, geographic location, or socio-economic background." |
